Endless Twist

Mixed-media webpage, Publication, Installation, Performances — 2023

Endless Twist is a critical autoethnographic research on Bremen Überseestadt, a former colonial harbor under neoliberal renewal since the early 2000s. Golghasemi’s analysis takes place through a drift across a local site, affected by three entangled global apparatuses: Google Maps and the platform-capitalist conditioning of urban inhabitation; the masterplan entangled with planners, owners, and cultural institutions, converting colonial pasts into contemporary capital; and a patented modeling software homogenizing the built environment through a contagious algorithmic reductivism. Taking getting lost as both subject and method, Endless Twist folds biography into spatial argument, narrating from the position of an architect later displaced into wayfinding in the spaces the discipline itself is producing.
